Event will consider “The Road Ahead”
London, 22 September 2010 - Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating segment of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), is proud to be a Platinum sponsor of the upcoming Resort Development Organisation (RDO) Conference to be held from 4 to 6 October at the Don Carlos Resort and Spa in Marbella, Spain.
In addition, Interval executives will play key roles in the conference programme, including participation in several panels: ·
- David Clifton, managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia, will lead a session entitled “Where is the Next Pot of Gold?”
- Darren Ettridge, vice president of resort sales and service for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, will participate on the fractional panel “Selling the Dream – a Piece at a Time.”
- Jose Miguel Echenagusia, vice president of legal services for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia, will join the panel “Working with the Timeshare Directive - a Practical Guide.”
- Michael Myers, group director of marketing and travel, will present a session “Redefining Your Product – What Can We Learn from the Cruise Industry?” and will also join the panel looking at the use of social networks in the industry.
“This conference provides an important forum for industry leaders to discuss the opportunities ahead, as well as the issues we face in a challenging marketplace,” said Ettridge, who represents Interval on the RDO Board. “For this reason, we are extremely pleased to be a Platinum sponsor of RDO1.”
“Not only was Interval one of the first to step forward to sponsor the conference – the first to be held under the RDO banner, but it has gone even further by providing strong logistical support in both the planning and production of the event, which has proved of enormous value to the Secretariat,” said Paul Gardner Bougaard, chief executive of the Resort Development Organisation. “I would like to express my personal thanks and that of RDO for Interval’s unwavering support of the association and of this event.”
The conference is expected to attract nearly 200 delegates from across Europe and beyond who represent a broad spectrum of industry leaders, including resort developers, trust companies, and legal experts. The event will be a primary avenue for discussing key industry topics that affect the European market.
