INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL ADDS MONARCH GRAND VACATIONS’ CABO AZUL RESORT & SPA TO ITS GLOBAL VACATION EXCHANGE NETWORK
MIAMI, FL, October 24, 2007 – Interval International, a leading provider of vacation services and an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq:IACI), announced the addition of Monarch Grand Vacations’ Cabo Azul Resort & Spa to its global vacation exchange network. The 332-villa luxury resort, developed by Pacific Monarch Resorts, Inc., is set on 12 oceanfront acres on an azure bay in the heart of Los Cabos, Mexico. It will feature one- and two-bedroom villas, as well as three-bedroom grand penthouse villas. Phase one recently opened and phase two, with an adjacent boutique hotel, is scheduled to open in late 2008.
"We are thrilled to add this upscale property in one of Mexico’s top leisure destinations to our network of resorts,” said Marcos Agostini, assistant vice president for Latin America, resort sales and service, Interval International. “Pacific Monarch Resorts has a well-deserved reputation for developing world-class properties in highly demanded resort locations and this one is sure to be a very desirable among our members.”
Acclaimed interior designer Dodd Mitchell was selected to appoint Cabo Azul Resort & Spa’s villas and amenities. He incorporates elements such as flaming fire sculptures, whimsical waterscapes, and playful lighting effects throughout the property. The villas’ artful décor features wood carved furnishings, custom three-tiered metal lanterns, high-thread count bedding and linens, full-service kitchens equipped with stainless steel appliances, spa tubs, and private oceanfront cabana terraces.
“Quality is very important to us and our owners, therefore we see our partnership with Interval International as a natural extension of the high caliber of accommodations and services we provide,” commented Mark Post, president and chief executive officer of Pacific Monarch Resorts, Inc. “We are pleased to offer our owners the opportunity to experience other exciting destinations around the world through Interval’s quality exchange network.”
Guests at the Cabo Azul will be able to enjoy numerous amenities and services, including tri-level infinity edge swimming pools, swim-up bar, pool cabanas, a nightclub, and an open-air five-story wedding chapel complete with a reception area and panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez. Eateries include a gourmet market, deli, bakery, Internet café, outdoor ceviche, taco and tequila tasting bars, and a Dodd Mitchell-designed restaurant, Javier’s Cantina & Grill – already a Southern California favorite. Also available on-site is a spa featuring Asian-inspired therapeutic treatments, a Green Tea Jacuzzi, and Arctic Plunge Pool.
Los Cabos’ location at the southernmost tip of Baja California Sur provides visitors with the opportunity to experience its distinctive landscape. The 20-mile tourist corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo offers an array of beaches and coves. Popular activities include world-class fishing, championship golf, snorkeling and diving, beach volleyball, horseback riding, parasailing, kayaking, whale-watching, and exploring desert trails.
