INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL SPONSORS 2ND ANNUAL BAJA CALIFORNIA MEETING POINT 2006
Miami, FL, November 1, 2006 — Interval International, a leading global vacation exchange company and operating business of IAC/InterActiveCorp (Nasdaq: IACI), sponsored the "2nd Annual Baja California Meeting Point 2006" held recently at the Grand Hotel Tijuana in Baja California. More than 800 delegates attended the two-day event that was organized by the state of Baja California and supported by the National Trust for Tourism Development (FONATUR) and the states of Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, and Nayarit.
"We are proud to be a sponsor of this forum, which is designed to generate investments in the Sea of Cortez and Baja Peninsula development projects. It is quickly becoming the investment summit to attend in order to learn about the numerous opportunities in this growing vacation destination," said Marcos Agostini, Interval International's regional director, resort sales and service for Latin America. "The region is known for the exceptional caliber of its existing hotel and vacation ownership product and that will only increase as more developers enter the Baja market."
The goal of the conference is to position Mexico's northwest region as a strategic area for tourism-related investments. It provides a venue for hospitality industry executives, investors, real estate agents, developers, government tourism officials, representatives from financial institutions, and consultants to network and learn about new investment opportunities in the region. The Baja California Association of Developers projected that the volume of business expected to close as a result of this gathering will double last year's $237 million.
