INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATES COSTA BONITA CONDOMINIUM & BEACH RESORT IN MEXICO
Miami, Florida, March 23, 2004 - Interval International, a leading global vacation exchange company, announced the affiliation of Costa Bonita Condominium & Beach Resort, a vacation-ownership resort located in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
“We are pleased to serve as the exchange provider for this exceptional beachfront property,” said Marcos Agostini, region director for the Caribbean and Latin America in the Resort Sales and Service Department for Interval International. “Mexico continues to be a strategically important market for our company and one of the top exchange preferences for Interval members.”
This mixed-use property consists of 40 fractional units and 48 whole-ownership condominiums surrounded by tropical gardens that overlook gold sand beaches and sparkling blue waters. Guests can enjoy numerous on site amenities such as a zero-entry swimming pool, tennis courts, fully equipped gymnasium, saunas, whirlpool, beauty salon, Internet center, La Palapa beach café, gourmet restaurants, and a sports bar. “We are thrilled to be affiliated with Interval International’s high quality global network, which will offer our future owners an extensive array of vacation opportunities,” said Jesus Montoya, chairman of Costa Bonita S.A. de C.V., the developer company.
Dating back more than two centuries, the port city of Mazatlán offers a myriad of social, cultural, and recreational attractions, including restaurants with excellent cuisine, nightclubs, the "Zona Dorada" tourist area, world-class sport fishing, sailing, kayaking, bird watching, horseback riding, and golf courses. The city attracts more than one million tourists each year and is also the site of Carnival Mazatlán – one of the world's three major carnivals, comparable only to those in New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro. Old Mazatlán provides visitors the opportunity to tour its 479 buildings designated as national historic monuments.
Owners at Costa Bonita Condominium & Beach Resort become members of Interval’s upgraded membership program, Interval Gold, affording them not only the opportunity to exchange their accommodations for those at other resorts in Interval’s worldwide network, but access to specially priced travel and leisure services. Members also receive quarterly travel magazines and newsletters, printed and electronic international resort directories, and a host of other privileges.
Architects Jesús R. Montoya y Treviño and Eduardo Habif partnered to develop the Costa Bonita Condominium & Beach Resort. The resort was built by Constructora Mont, S.A. de C.V., a construction company founded and managed by Mr. Montoya who has more than 25 years experience developing a variety of hospitality industry projects throughout Mexico. Mr. Habif, who is from Mazatlán, has 40 years of development experience.
Costa Bonita has partnered with David Adkins International (DAI), a sales and marketing company in the vacation ownership industry to sell the fractional interests at the resort. “Interval will provide resort owners with the first-class service they are known for in the industry,” said David Adkins, president of David Adkins International. “We are honored to be a part of this unique project in one of Mexico’s most diverse tourist destinations.”
