INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL AND KING’S CREEK PLANTATION
TEAM UP TO PROVIDE CUSTOMIZED SERVICES TO VACATION OWNERS
Miami, FL, October 11, 2011 – Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), announced the renewal and expansion of its affiliation with King’s Creek Plantation LLC. The multi-year contract broadens the relationship established more than a decade ago and comprises all three phases of King’s Creek Plantation in Williamsburg, Virginia, as well as properties developed during the term of the agreement.
In addition, Interval assisted in the design and launch of Club Explore, the new King’s Creek points-based vacation club. Interval is providing reservation services for Club Explore members.
“We are very pleased to take our relationship with the King’s Creek team to the next level and collaborate with them as they enhance their already successful business,” said David Gilbert, executive vice president of resort sales and marketing for Interval. “Long known for delivering unique vacation experiences, King’s Creek now also offers its owners the ultimate in flexibility with the addition of its points-based club.”
“Maintaining our strong partnership with Interval supports our customer-first culture, while opening the door for new products with more options. We are excited about our continued relationship and the many opportunities it will bring in the near future,” said Kevin Jones, cofounder and president of King’s Creek Plantation LLC.
Owners who enroll in Club Explore can convert their vacation time into club currency. From day one, they can utilize their points to vacation at King’s Creek properties or exchange throughout Interval’s worldwide resort network. Points may be used across various locations, unit sizes, and seasons, and can be combined to trade up to larger units. And, as members of Interval’s upgraded program, Interval Gold®, Club Explore participants are able to use ShortStay ExchangeSM to take as many quick breaks as their available points allow.
King’s Creek Plantation is situated on 98 acres and includes The Cottages, The Townes, and The Estates. Its setting is similar to an upscale residential community with cottages, townhouses, and estate homes that feature cozy front porches and spacious decks. Guests find a wide range of amenities, such as the King’s Creek Aquatic Center that has an indoor pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a fitness center, and a general store. The property also has tennis and basketball courts, jogging trails, and a tram that helps guests navigate their way around the Plantation.
The 110 units at The Cottages built in three different Colonial styles are three-bedroom detached 1,780-square-foot homes that have a living room, dining room, two kitchens, and a working fireplace. Each is furnished with a washer and dryer, a flat-screen TV in the living room, and TVs in all the bedrooms.
The Townes have 58 four-bedroom units, each with a sunroom, fireplace, wet bar, and washer and dryer. The townhouses are roomy with 2,850-square-feet of living space.
The Plantation’s newest phase is The Estates, which debuted in 2007. These 2,950-square-foot four-bedroom homes feature fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, flat-screen TVs, multiple decks, and three kitchens with top-grade appliances.
Guests at King’s Creek Plantation also appreciate the area’s fine dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings. Under an agreement with the Williamsburg National Golf Club, they can play at the Nicklaus Design Associates Golf Course, rated byGolf Digest as one of the top ten in Virginia.
The family-friendly destination is most renowned for Colonial Williamsburg, the oldest and, at 174 acres, largest outdoor living-history museum in the United States. Just 3 miles from the property, it is considered by many to be the nation’s first theme park. Two other well-known attractions are nearby: WaterCountry USA is less than a mile from the Plantation and Busch Gardens is 4 miles away. The resort maintains a concierge and activity staff to assist its visitors in taking full advantage of all the area has to offer.
King’s Creek will continue to enroll new vacation owners as Interval Gold® members of Interval International. Owners have the opportunity to exchange their accommodations for those at other resorts in Interval’s worldwide network, as well as the ability to relinquish their resort weeks toward the purchase of cruise, golf, and spa vacations. In addition to ShortStay ExchangeSM, they will enjoy an extensive menu of Gold benefits, including discounts on resort Getaways, access to a personal concierge service available 24/7 via phone and e-mail, complimentary Hertz #1 Gold® membership, and special offers at hotels, restaurants, and retail outlets worldwide.
