London, 8 July 2010 - Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating segment of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), is the Naming Sponsor of the Vacation Ownership Association of Southern Africa (VOASA) Industry Conference to be held from 29-31 August at the Elangeni Southern Sun in Durban, South Africa. David Clifton, Interval’s managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, will open the conference as keynote speaker, and Darren Ettridge, Interval’s vice president of resort sales and service for Europe, Middle East and Africa, will participate on the “Fractional Ownership in Southern Africa” panel.
“Interval is committed to working with VOASA to further its mission as the self-regulatory body for all shared vacation ownership products and services relating to the industry, as well as assisting consumers, trade professionals, and organisations with all aspects of the vacation ownership market,” said David Clifton. “We are proud to be members of VOASA and support this event because it provides a forum to address the opportunities and issues for timeshare and other shared vacation-ownership products in the region.”
“We are delighted to announce Interval as our Naming Sponsor of the VOASA conference, and are appreciative of the company’s ongoing commitment to VOASA and this event in particular,” said Alex Bosch, executive director of the association. “Interval’s support and involvement helps us continue to create, maintain, and develop an environment within which the long-term viability and growth of shared vacation ownership can be optimally ensured.”
At last year’s conference, the organisation’s new name (formerly, the Timeshare Institute of Southern Africa), logo, and identity were formally introduced to the industry. This year’s event will again be a primary avenue for discussing key industry topics that affect the market. Delegates are expected to include hospitality industry leaders, government officials, and resort developers.
