INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL SPONSORS SMALL HOTELS RETREAT

MIAMI, FL, September 10, 2010 – Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services, is a sponsor of the Small Hotels Retreat taking place September 9-11 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The three-day conference, themed “Serving the Needs of Small & Independent Hoteliers,” has been organized by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA).

“We greatly appreciate Interval’s generosity in supporting our events and its long-term commitment to the growth of the hospitality industry in the region,” said Alec Sanguinetti, director general and chief executive officer of CHTA. “This meeting is vital for managers of independent Caribbean hotels because it offers them key elements and tools necessary to successfully market and operate their properties in today’s competitive environment.”

“Our participation in the Small Hotels Retreat allows us to network with hoteliers and share information about vacation ownership and its many benefits. Incorporating a timeshare or fractional component to their existing product offerings can provide hotels with the option to diversify their business,” said Neil Kolton, Interval International’s director of resort sales and service for the Caribbean.

The program features a roundtable titled “Driving Incremental Revenue to Your Property,” that will be led by Kolton and focuses on the opportunities for vacation ownership in the market and how this segment can generate new distribution channels for hotels.

The Caribbean has proven itself to be a very popular destination for both current owners and prospective timeshare purchasers of the vacation ownership product. According to the 2009 U.S. Membership Profile, a study of Interval’s U.S.-resident members, the Caribbean is the preferred international location to which members plan to travel in the next two years. In addition, the Future Timeshare Buyers: 2009 Market Profile, a study that offers unique insights into the vacation habits, preferences, and intentions of U.S. active leisure travelers who are interested in purchasing vacation time in the next two years, ranks the Caribbean as one of the leading international destinations for prospective timeshare buyers.

As a Strategic Partner of CHTA and a Board Member of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Education Foundation, Interval has been a long-time supporter of the tourism industry in the region.
