INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL SPONSORS VENTANA DE MEXICO SUMMIT
Miami, FL, May 7, 2007 – Interval International, a leading provider of vacation services and an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq:IACI), was a sponsor of the Ventana de Mexico Summit held recently at the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona. The three-day conference was designed to encourage investment in regional tourism and hotel projects in the Baja California and Sea of Cortez areas and was attended by more than 500 delegates.
“We are committed to supporting efforts aimed at increasing investments in some of the fastest-growing Mexican tourism destinations, thus helping to expand the product offerings, and attracting more tourists,” said Marcos Agostini, Interval International's regional director, resort sales and service for Latin America. “Tourism has a direct positive impact on the local economies of these regional markets and vacation ownership plays a key role in generating recurring visitors.”
The event provided a venue for private investors, asset managers, portfolio executives, capital and hedge fund managers, developers, legal, accounting, engineering and architectural firms, and hospitality industry executives to network and learn about new investment opportunities in the region. It was organized by the City of Tucson; the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau; Mexico’s Foreign Relations Ministry in Tucson; and the Departments of Tourism of Mexico's Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua and Baja California states.
