INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL AWARDED SEAT ON CTO EDUCATION FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Miami, FL, December 22, 2003 – Interval International has been awarded a seat on the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Education Foundation Board of Directors as a result of the company’s continued support of the organization.

“We have asked Interval to join the CTO Education Foundation Board of Directors because the company has shown a sustained commitment to support the education of Caribbean nationals,” said Jean Holder, secretary general of CTO. “We look forward to Interval’s participation in the Foundation’s future growth.”

This year, Interval and resorts affiliated with its exchange network contributed the sum of $30,000 to the CTO Education Foundation, representing the single largest monetary donation by the private sector. In the last four years, more than $60,000 has been provided to the Foundation by Interval and its affiliates.

“Interval International is honored to be joining the Board and is committed to furthering educational opportunities in the Caribbean region through the Foundation,” said Marcos Agostini, Interval International’s region director for the Caribbean and Latin America, Resort Sales and Service Department. “These contributions would not have been possible without the support of our affiliated resorts. We are proud that the timeshare industry plays such an important role in this worthwhile initiative.”

CTO Education Foundation
The CTO Education Foundation was created in 1997 exclusively for charitable and educational purposes with the objective of providing scholarships and study grants to Caribbean students and industry personnel interested in undertaking studies in the areas of tourism, hospitality and language training. The Foundation supports individuals who demonstrate high levels of academic achievement and leadership potential both in and out of the classroom and who express a strong interest in making a positive contribution to Caribbean tourism. Since its inception, the organization has provided 11 major scholarships and 31 study grants, amounting to just over $250,000, to deserving Caribbean nationals.

The Foundation was established in recognition of the growing importance of tourism to the economies of the Caribbean and the critical need to have well trained and highly skilled tourism personnel to make the sector competitive globally. It is a demonstration of CTO’s commitment to developing a cadre of professionals who will lead Caribbean tourism in the 21st century.
