STARWOOD VACATION OWNERSHIP’S THE WESTIN KIERLAND VILLAS AFFILIATES WITH INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL
Resort Location Receives Industry Renowned Interval International Five Star Award
Miami, FL, June 6, 2003 – Interval International, a leading global vacation exchange company, today announced the affiliation and Five Star recognition of Starwood Vacation Ownership’s The Westin Kierland Villas, a vacation ownership resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Currently under construction, The Westin Kierland Villas is set on 10 beautiful acres amid the 730-acre master-planned community of Kierland, 10 miles from historic downtown Scottsdale. Phase 1 of the project will include 51 two-bedroom villas and is estimated to open for owner occupancy in mid – 2004. The resort will reflect the earthy colors seen in the state’s most famous landmark, the Grand Canyon. Owners and guests can relax in the solitude of the desert, experience luxurious spa treatments, or tee-off on any of three nine-hole courses at the Troon-managed Kierland Golf Club.
Starwood Vacation Ownership’s The Westin Kierland Villas received the Interval International Five Star Award, known as one of the most prestigious awards in the vacation ownership industry, recognizing resorts that provide exceptional vacation experiences. To qualify for the Interval International Five Star designation, the resort was evaluated according to an objective, quantitative assessment of the resort’s location, vacation area, facilities, accommodations, and guest services. After construction, the resort must annually re-qualify by maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction.
