INTERVAL INTERNATIONAL HONORED WITH GLOBAL GNEX AWARDS
Miami, Florida, February 20, 2013 – Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), received two Perspective Magazine Awards at GNEX 2013 – the Timeshare and Fractional Global Networking Expo held recently in Beverly Hills, California.
Interval PlatinumSM was voted “Best Membership Program” and Interval and its Caribbean resort affiliates won the “Best Strategic Partnership” award for support of education initiatives in the region. In addition, several of Interval’s developer clients received awards.
“We’re very pleased that Interval Platinum was recognized in this category, since the product adds great value at the point of sale and to members who enjoy its collection of high-end travel-related benefits and personalized service,” said Bryan Ten Broek, Interval’s senior vice president of resort sales and business development for the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. “Equally rewarding is acknowledgement of our collaboration with developer clients to help educate the next generation of hospitality leaders in the Caribbean.”
Interval Platinum, the company’s most prestigious membership level, was launched two years ago to cater to discerning vacation owners who desire upscale travel experiences. It provides a rich array of services, and offers one of the most complete travel and exchange benefits packages available in shared ownership.
The “Best Strategic Partnership” award was presented in recognition of Interval’s long-standing commitment to the education of Caribbean nationals. During the past 12 years, Interval and its participating resort clients in the region have donated more than $500,000 to the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Education Foundation and the Caribbean Tourism Organization Foundation. The funds provide scholarships and grants for young people interested in pursuing careers in hospitality and tourism.
Among Interval clients and member resorts honored were:
Entrepreneur of the Year
- Bruce L. Thompson, CEO, Gold Key/PHR Hotels and Resorts
Best Timeshare Resort North America and Best in the World
- Westgate Park City Resort & Spa, Park City, Utah
Best Timeshare Resort Europe & Middle East

The awards, presented at a gala dinner, were chosen through a combination of online voting and judging by a panel of industry experts. More than 14,500 votes were cast for nearly 200 nominees who competed for 35 awards.
A record 182 delegates representing 104 companies attended GNEX 2013 to network, learn, and discuss pertinent issues relevant to the success of the shared ownership industry.
